Founder profile coming soon. Desiree Rogers & Cheryl Mayberry McKissack founded Black Opal in 2019.
The Story
Black Opal was co-founded in 1994 by Carol Jackson and industry giant Joe Dudley of Dudley Products, who recognized that Black women were being systematically ignored by mass beauty. Their partnership created one of the first drugstore brands with a genuine commitment to deep skin tones: decades before 'inclusivity' became a marketing strategy.
