Culture Coded Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 9, 2026. Covers every app in the Culture Coded series.

Culture Coded Puzzles & Trivia Culture Coded: The Card Table

Culture Coded is a series of apps published by BLK Society ("we," "us"). This one policy covers all of them. It explains exactly what an app stores, what leaves your device, and who else touches it. Where something works differently from one app to the next, we say so.

The short version: you can play any Culture Coded app without an account, we ask for an email address only if you want your purchase to follow you to a new phone, advertising is limited and non-personalised where it exists at all, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Stored on your device

Almost everything an app knows about you stays on your phone and is never sent to us: your progress (which puzzles you have solved and where, or which card games you have in play and your table history), streaks, coins or hints if that app has them, achievements, level and XP, and your settings. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Your Culture Coded identifier

The first time you open any Culture Coded app, it creates a random identifier and stores it in your device's keychain, shared across every Culture Coded app you install. It contains no email address, no phone number, no name, and no device advertising identifier, and it is not connected to your Apple ID, your Google account, or any real world identity.

This is the identifier that tells us you have already paid, so one Pro purchase reaches every app in the series the moment you open it, with no sign-in anywhere.

Your Crew (Culture Coded Puzzles & Trivia)

Puzzles & Trivia has an optional Your Crew feature. Joining or creating a Crew makes a separate, anonymous account with our database provider so your Crew can see your results. A placeholder display name of "Player" is stored alongside it until you choose one. If you create or join a Crew, the following is stored on our servers:

WhatWhy
The display name you chooseSo your Crew knows which result is yours
Crew name and invite codeSo people can join the right Crew
Your daily result: the date, which game, whether you solved it, how many hints you used, and the spoiler free glyph lineTo show the Crew feed and advance the shared streak

We store the result, never the answer. This data is held in Supabase, our database provider, and is visible only to members of a Crew you belong to. Other Culture Coded apps do not currently have a Crew feature; if that changes, this page will say so.

Your email, only if you ask

Your Culture Coded identifier and any Crew account live on one device. If you get a new phone, or delete and reinstall, there is nothing for us to match you against. Linking an email, where an app offers it, is how you carry your purchase and your Crew across.

It is entirely optional and nothing prompts you for it. You go and find it. If you do link one, we store the address so we can send you a six digit sign in code and recognise you when you type it on another device. We do not send marketing, we do not add you to a list, and we do not share the address with anyone. Email addresses are held in Supabase alongside the account they belong to. Ask us and we will delete yours.

Purchases

If you buy Culture Coded Pro, or a one-time item in an app that offers one, the payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or receive your card details.

Our purchase provider, RevenueCat, receives the store receipt and your Culture Coded identifier so it can validate the purchase, unlock what you paid for, restore it if you reinstall, carry it to the other apps in the series, and report anonymous sales totals to us. If you have linked an email, that identifier is connected to it, which is exactly what makes recovery on a new phone possible.

Advertising

Advertising, where an app has any, is limited and clearly marked: never a banner, and never something that interrupts you mid-game without warning. Some apps offer a video you can choose to watch for a reward; others show a short ad before a specific free activity, at most once a day. If an app in the series currently shows no ads, its Info.plist and configuration reflect that honestly, and this page is updated the moment that changes.

Where ads run, they are served by Google AdMob. Google receives information about your device and about the ad itself so it can deliver it, count it, and detect fraud. We ask Google for non-personalised ads. That means what you see is not chosen from a profile of what you have done in other apps. We do not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), and because of that you will never see the "allow tracking" prompt in a Culture Coded app.

Culture Coded Pro removes advertising completely in every app that has it.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your real name, phone number, contacts, calendar, precise location, photos, health data, or browsing history. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal data with data brokers. We run no general analytics and no crash reporting service. The only figures we see are anonymous sales totals from our purchase provider.

Sharing your results

When you tap "Share," your device's own share sheet hands a spoiler free text or image card to whichever app you pick. That happens on your device. We do not see, receive, or store what you send or who you send it to.

Children

Culture Coded apps are made for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The apps ask for no personal information from anyone, so the only things a child could enter are a display name and, if they went looking for it, an email address. Any advertising described above is non-personalised for everybody, so no profile is built of any player, child or adult. If you believe a child has entered identifying information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change what an app collects, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in that app's release notes.
