Acquired 2017

Richelieu Dennis built SheaMoisture from his grandmother Sofi Tucker's West African shea butter recipes, sold at Harlem markets in the early 1990s. Unilever acquired Sundial Brands -- SheaMoisture's parent company -- in 2017 in a deal valued at over $1.6B. Dennis remained as CEO of Sundial for several years post-acquisition.
